A week from tonight I’m teaching a Fringe Earrings class at Craft Akron. You’ll make two pairs of earrings (your choice of bead kits). Cost is $15 for class & $10 for two bead kits. Please preregister & prepay for class, as I have a ten space limit.
If you can’t come to class, you can buy a bead kit from me. It includes beads for two pairs of earrings (tell me which two you’d like-the focal beads on the left pair are fire polished, center are blue/gray shells, and right are Swarovski crystals), step by step color instructions, ear wires (do you want silver-plated, gold-plated, or something else), beading thread, and two beading needles for $17 (includes tax & shipping). Just email colleen@clevernesting.com & tell me which two sets of earrings you’d like to make, ear wire preference, and your address. I’ll send you a Paypal invoice.

Lots of great items were brought to our first swap!
Clever Nesting is hosting our second Art Supplies Swap in February. Bring your art & craft supplies, books/magazines, plus anything else that may be repurposed or reused creatively. This is an opportunity to clear out unused supplies & get some new ones, plus network with other creatives. Extra supplies will be donated to local nonprofits.
Immediately following the swap, you’re welcome to participate in a handmade gift exchange. You’ll share your creative work & take home a gift as well. All you need to do is bring an original handmade item with your contact info included.
Event Info: Saturday February 20 1-2:30pm at Craft Akron. Cost is $5 which covers refreshments & room rental.

Items from last year's Zero Landfill
If you’re artistic & want to build your stash of recycled supplies, come to Zero Landfill! It’s an event where architects, interior designers, and graphic designers donate their discontinued samples & materials so that artists & teachers can collect & reuse them. You’ll find paint samples, tiles, carpets, wallpaper books, fabric samples, and binders, and you can have them for free!
The event will be happening in downtown Akron every Saturday in February from noon-3pm at 30 N. High Street. Plus they have events on the calendar in Chattanooga, TN & Cleveland, OH.

This is a great class for advanced beginners to intermediate sewers. I have made quite a few of these dolls and I just love them.
Come down to Craft Akron and make a super adorable little pet to take with you!

2 Hours – $35.00
Please bring sewing notions and a gallon sized ziplock bag full of scraps, at least 4″ by 4″. I’ll bring some scraps and the stuffing!

I’m teaching one more class this month at Craft Akron. You’ll create pretty fabric rose flowers from recycled fabrics. Make one hair clip & one pin, and choose from a variety of fabrics & colors. I’ve been wearing these flowers on my winter coat, scarf, and sweaters, or in my hair. They’d also look great as a gift decoration.
Class cost is $12 plus a kit fee of $8. Make sure to preregister at 330-865-1100 or info@craftakron.com…class is limited to 10 students.

Tomorrow is the Last Minute Market, put together by Cleveland Handmade. Jenn from Landen Road Designs and I will be splitting a booth so come on up and see us if you’re in the Cleveland area. I will be selling items from my Templeton line of crafts, which are pictured here. I have headbands, fascinators, aprons and children’s dresses made from repurposed men’s shirts. All items are made from repurposed fabrics.
Jenn will be selling her buttons, wool, and zipper headbands. We make a good team, and we really like laughing, so you’ll have fun if you come see us.
If I weren’t selling at the Last Minute Market, I’d be coming to Colleen’s Fringe Earring Class! I tried to make fringe earrings for a Christmas Party outfit last year and they looked terrible. I might have to take the class the next time through.
