I resonate with Ron Marvin's quote on pg 86, "Understand what makes you feel comfortable and recreate it in your own home." I'm sometimes tempted to try things in my home that aren't me and don't even fit with my home, but I like them. For sake of my budget and home comfort & cohesiveness, this is good advice to remember.
Also, the interview of Grace Bonney, creator of Design*Sponge, is really great. I liked hearing more of her story of how she got into design.
