I first heard this idea in a Dr. Sears book and then promptly forgot it. Then my friend, Megan, mentioned she was using a snack tray for her preschooler. Just the day before I spent a solid 10 minutes playing around with my empty plastic egg carton trying to figure out what I wanted to use it for!

Not to mention that I have spent MANY afternoons getting entirely too frustrated with my kids for wanting a snack. Now I’ve been making this tray up in the morning when I make breakfast and when the kids say they are hungry I tell them, “Then go get your tray.”

The best part is the snapping lid on this particular carton. It keeps the cheese from getting a hard outside. A snack tray just isn’t complete without some cheese.
