dsc_0720I am going through a fabric and clothing purge. The first step is to clean out all the closets and dressers and shelves, then identify what can be repurposed in my own home. The rest goes to charity or the landfill. While discarding my old tights from the dresser I was struck by a moment of genius. I cut the tights into little 3 inch by 3 inch tubes. I glued one end closed with fabric glue and bias tape binding. Then I filled each pocket up with 2 tablespoons of white rice and 3 drops lavender oil. Lastly I glued the other end shut the same way as the first.

dsc_0719I now have these little scented sachets to toss into my drawers and closet shelves to get rid of the woody smell. It was funny how to one task led to the other, and now our baby blankets and sheets are all organized and smell relaxingly of lavender for deep sleep.
