I found these old 70’s books at the thrift store called The Family Creative Workshop. Each volume focuses on over ten creative skills. In the “B” volume, you can learn beachcombing, beadwork, bean-bags, belts & buckles, bicycles, birds, birthday celebrations, block printing, bonsai, bookbinding, bottle cutting , & bottle gardens. I would have loved these books as a kid and would have asked my parents to try it all!

Wouldn’t it be fun to create your own “Family Creative Workshop”, from your family to other families for gifts? My family could take pictures & write about the creative things we know how to do, and so could other families. Then we could all trade books & have a whole set of awesome ideas! Or, you could create a new book every year to give away, and that would force your family to learn lots of new skills as well.
I love this series- we had the books when I was growing up and I still have them. I always feel a bit sad when I see them in the thrifts, but I know that they will be moving on to new homes.
We had these books when I was kid and my parents recently gifted the whole series to me. I did beg my parents to try them all and we experimented with many. I am now inspired to pull them back off the shelf.
I have a set that I found at a thrift store about 8 years ago and I enjoy them very much!
