More Handmade Underwear

Here’s my second pair of underwear made from a recycled T-shirt. I learned a ton from my first pair, and saw where I needed to be more meticulous as well. These took me 2 1/2 hours to make, including making the pattern from a pair I already have. They cost me a total of $1.60 (the recycled shirt was free, I already had thread, and the elastic was the only item I bought.) The next thing I need to try is adding lace!

Colleen, when you look for lace you can find some elasticized lace for the edges. Then you can skip the regular elastic and will have less bulk.
Colleen- This may be weird- but I have cut the elastic out of my underwear before I tossed it to use in crafts. I don’t see any reason that you can’t use elastic from other undies to make new ones. Also, check out http://www.sewsassy.com I have ordered some items from them to use with my bow ties, but they have lots of great stretch-lace to choose from at good prices. And their shipping is FAST!
Thanks Ellie, the website has a lot of great items, and their prices are reasonable.
