I never thought I’d bother sewing underwear. I’ve admired the beautifully sewn ones on Angry Chicken, but never thought I’d be capable. When I saw this tutorial from Craft Stylish I felt compelled to give it a try. They’re not quite wearable, but I learned a lot, and the next pairs can only get better. It was my first time sewing elastic to fabric (it bunched because I stretched it too much when I sewed it in), and I learned how to change the tension on my bobbin as well (the thread on the underside was really puckering, and I finally got it fixed with a screwdriver). This technique isn’t in the tutorial instructions. Basically what you do is cut a front, back, and 2 crotch pieces (instead of a front/crotch, back, and 1 inside crotch piece.) Then sew them so all the seams are on the inside (like you’d sew a pillow).
