Make Magnetic Spice Tins

I’m gathering quite a collection of spices, but I’m sad to keep them tucked away in my cabinet. So I’ve been looking for magnetic spice holders for my fridge. I found some beautiful ones by Soho, but the price is a bit much for this nonnecessity.
Then I thought about using recycled candy tins. I found some perfect ones with clear windows at Giant Eagle. I just finished my first one…I cleaned it, attached a magnet with E6000 glue, and filled it with spices. Still need to decide how I’ll label them.

That’s a great idea! My mother has been saving me York mint and Altoids tins for craft use – they’re a great size for stitch holders and other notions – but I haven’t needed them for anything in particular. This would be a perfect use for them! They don’t have clear fronts but I could make labels.
That’s a really cool idea!
