Sew a Rose

I have this *thing* for roses. So, even though I’m a novice with my sewing machine, I decided to try the “Sew a Rose out of Knit Tutorial” from Penny at Sew Take a Hike. I pulled together some courage and thought I’d share my practice rose. I think I’ll practice a few more, then make my first apron and put roses all over it! Thank you Penny for this great tutorial!

Make sure to check out Penny’s oven mitt & quilt she made with roses too. They’re amazing.

yours turned out so well! i used the tutorial for a recent project (secret until the recipient receives it!) and my first roses were NOT rose shaped at all! i should dig my test scraps out of the garbage and take some pictures of them. they all ended up square!
Colleen, I love the white rose with the dark background! Your first attempt is lovely, nice work!!
