Don't limit it to the grocery store!!! Take reusable bags everywhere!
I haven't made any bags, but I have a ton of canvas bags that I've gotten free as promotional objects for this or that. I like the idea of making them out of scrap fabric, old tee shirts, even sheets and towels!

I have 10 reusable bags that I bought from the grocery store. And while I just watched a video from http://www.storyofstuff.com/ today and it sickens me knowing they were made in China, I still feel better about using them over the disposable plastic bags. If the day comes that I feel apt enough with my sewing machine I will eventually convert to ones I've made by using their bags (and plastic insert to hold the bottom open) as a pattern. Every little bit helps right?
