Easter Basket Filling

Don’t go buy a bag of green plastic Easter grass this year to stuff your Easter basket. Instead, take an old magazine and shred it into tiny strips. I use my paper cutter to slice it into 1/8 inch strips and then crinkle them up the old fashion way, also known as crumbling them in my hands and then flattening them back out.
If you don’t have a paper cutter you can lay a ruler on the edge of the paper, over-lapping by 1/4 inch or so and tear off the fat end leaving a strip of paper under your ruler. Pick lots of colorful ads and photos to shred. You’ll have a recycled, free, biodegradable nest of paper to stuff into your basket. It’ll be rainbow colored, too, instead of the standard neon green.

Great idea Devona! I’ll do this. Put the kids to work on it!

You can also recycle & shred old wrapping paper.
I love this – and it doesn’t intimidate me at all!
I’ve used shredded paper from the paper shredder….
