My friend, Ellie, is very lucky to have an abundance of bamboo growing in her yard. She’s using some to make bamboo curtain rods for her bedroom and wondered what else she could do with bamboo.

Well, first off, she can send some of it to me! I found this cool tutorial for making a caligraphy pen out of back yard bamboo on a blog called Grá Linnaea. It looks like a quick project. And a good reason to take up caligraphy.

The other things I thought to do with bamboo were to use stalks of it as tomato stakes in your garden and to put a pot of bamboo stalks in a floor vase in your home. Does anyone else have any ideas of what to do with bamboo? Links and photos are always appreciated!
