One of the last things my children need is another mobile hanging from their ceiling, so I’ll have to give this woven butterfly mobile as a gift to someone. Maybe for our next Clever Nesting give-away? But I really want to try this triangle weaving on the pot holder loom. We have one for Olivia, my four year old, and she likes to set it up, but isn’t quite ready to finish a project on it by herself. It is always around and I’ve been wanting to use it for something.
Hankering for Yarn has posted a few tutorials, as well as videos on how to weave on the loom with yarn which I am going to start messing around with. She uses yarn to weave, but I have a few t-shirts that are cut into shreds that would make decent yarn if I cut it into long strips. I think the thickness of the t-shirt yarn would eliminate the need to weave multiple strands of yarn on to the loom as she does in the video I posted.
Once I’ve woven about 4 butterflies I will hang them on a dowel or a stick as a mobile with a few flower beads for sparkle. I can’t wait to see the finished result!
