Well, not quite blooming. But they are quite lovely. The tulips pushing through the garden gave me the itch to put some flowers on the table but the real ones aren’t ready yet. I did have this yellow foam egg carton I was hesitating to throw away (yes my house really is full of trash I won’t throw away because I might need it some day), and the girls were interested in crafting. So we made these adorable “tulips” with pipe cleaners and buttons.
The girls love them so much, I have to keep stealing them away from them to display. We have had many weddings in our living room the past two days!
As I always like to do, I found another blog with a similar project posted. The Green Scene has a tutorial today showing how she made paper flowers using her junk mail. This is probably on my to-do list. I mean look at her elegant flowers! Much more grown up that my egg carton tulips a-la-preschoolers.

Awesome craft!! Thanks for sharing my work and post! The flowers look gorgeous and “green”. I’ll write about your craft tomorrow! http://mygreenscene.wordpress.com/
Thanks Laura! I’ll check it out tomorrow.
cute!! My E doesn’t get into crafts like this. I feel cheated as a crafty mom. haha!
Despite the general uselessness of her crafts, I *heart* Martha. These are some craaaaaazy flowers out of crepe paper. I’m sure you could use some other recycled materials, though:

I love the egg carton tulips a-la-preschoolers! My kids are cheated that I don’t have the creative itch often enough!
I love those Martha flowers. They really are crazy! The coolest part is the suggestion to send your guests home with one. Sometimes I think I don’t give my crafts as gifts enough.
