Zero Landfill Akron

Saturday I went to Zero Landfill Akron. They collaborate with architectural and interior design businesses and collect discarded samples, passing them along to artists & art educators for reuse. So basically, artists can get free fabric swatches, wallpaper books, blinds, tiles, 3-ring binders, glass, carpet, etc.
Here are two of my favorite finds:
A Jillian’s menu. I’m going to cover the pages and make a tabletop scrapbook!
And a collection of carpet samples that are just the right size for cup coasters. The backs have a nice rubber finish too.
This Saturday is the last date for the event in Akron. It’s from noon-4pm in Downtown Akron near Mocha Maiden. (30 North High Street.)
